Great River Energy
Great River Energy is the second largest electric utility in state, based on generating capacity, and the fourth largest generation and transmission (G&T) cooperative in the U.S. in terms of assets.

Great River Energy provides wholesale electric service to 28 distribution cooperatives in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Those member cooperatives distribute electricity to approximately 590,000 homes, businesses and farms.

Great River Energy's 2,500-megawatt generation system comprises an effective mix of base load and peaking power plants, including coal, refuse-derived fuel, natural gas and oil plants, as well as wind generation.
