Sherburne County

"Sherburne County has exemplified what Energy City typifies, which is to conserve energy. For example, the County has loaned monies to convert methane gas to electricity and has given rewards out of the County's Solid Waste Fund to governmental units or businesses that exemplify reducing energy costs. The most recent project is providing for cities and townships an ability to secure funds for green materials of any building projects they might be anticipating.

Every effort we make to recycle, reduce and conserve energy makes our community healthier economically and health wise. We become the stewards for generations to come. Thus Elk River Energy City becomes a beacon/standard for other communities."
